2022 - What a Year it's Been!

If you've been following our blog all year, you know we're fans of both looking back and looking forward. And so, as the year draws to a close and we look ahead to what's next in 2023, we thought it only right to take a bit of time and reflect on the best of 2022 – and leave something to look forward to in 2023.

1. The Man, The Myth, The Painting.

It's no surprise that our most popular and sought after painting this year has been the incredible portrait that Paul Oz created of Welsh and British Lions, hero Alun Wyn Jones.

To celebrate Alun Wyn Jones' exceptional 150 caps for Wales, he was gifted an edition of this iconic piece, which he received in February during the 2022 Six Nations tournament.

I wonder where it's hanging in his house?

2. New For Twenty-Two.

As an independent gallery, we're really passionate about exploring new talent and bringing amazing and exiting artwork to Cardiff.

We held a 'New For Twenty-Two' exhibition in Spring where we showcased new artists' from all over the UK.

We've established some real gallery favourites such as Edge Sculpture, Louis Sidoli and Craig Everett, you'll constantly find a presence of their work whenever you visit us.

One of our best success stories has to be Ghost. A dynamic duo from Pontypridd, Ghost have really taken our gallery by storm. Their edgy and urban takes on traditional icon portraiture have transformed homes around the country.

3. It's Lights Out and Away We Go!

We love hosting a great show at Adamo Gallery and this year has been no exception. We welcomed Official F1 artist, Paul Oz to the gallery this Summer, and boy was it an amazing event?!

(Aimee, Sophie, Paul Oz, Rich and Max from Lab22)

Paul is an incredibly popular artist here at Adamo Gallery. His dynamic and vibrant pieces are the perfect statement. Enhanced by his status as the Official Formula One artist, his striking racing portraits are full of energy and movement. Whether you're team Mercedes, Red Bull, McLaren or Ferrari, Paul's iconic depictions of the greatest racing drivers of all time will leave you speechless!

4. We are One!

We did it. Just over 18 months ago, we made a bet to ourselves that we could make this gallery a success. And while there are still plenty of things we'd like to accomplish and things to change, I'm so proud of what we've built together and the diversity of talents we have here. Because together, we can achieve anything. 🎈🎉

We'd love to hear your suggestions about how we can make Adamo Gallery even better?

What would you like to see in the gallery next year? What new services could we offer you to make buying art an amazing experience?

5. Special Artworks for Special People

This year we responded to a demand in original artworks and commissions.

We love working with you to create bespoke and one of a kind pieces.

Commissions often have a sentimental and meaningful origin and we love bringing ideas to life for our clients (no idea is too crazy, trust us!) Take a look through some of our favourite commissions completed this year!

If you have a specific vision in mind, lets help you make it a reality. The talented artists who we represent are all available for commission work.

As we bid farewell to this year, we want to thank all of our wonderful collectors and supporters for helping us keep our dream alive. In 2022, all of you helped support our pursuit, and for that we humbly thank you. It's been a great year for us and for the fine art community, and it's your support that has made it possible.

Sophie & Richard
