Gallery Assistant (Progression to Art Consultant)

Adamo Gallery is looking for a friendly, reliable, and motivated Gallery Assistant to join our growing team.

This is a part-time role (4–8 hours per week, with weekend availability essential) with clear progression into an Art Consultant position for the right person. It’s an opportunity to become a valued, long-term member of a small, ambitious commercial gallery where you will gain hands-on experience across both operations and sales.

We are a family-run business with a strong focus on growth, professionalism, and client experience. We are looking to hire someone who can grow with the gallery long-term, takes pride in their work, shows initiative, and wants to develop within the gallery environment.



Key Responsibilities

You will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the gallery, including:

  • Preparing, packing, and organising artworks for viewings, collections, and shipping

  • Receiving and handling artwork deliveries and stock

  • Assisting with exhibition installation and de-installation (including use of ladders and manual handling)

  • Maintaining high gallery standards, including presentation and cleanliness

  • Supporting private views, exhibitions, and events

  • Engaging confidently with clients in person and over the phone

  • Assisting with client enquiries about artists and artworks

  • Supporting stock orders and liaising with artists and suppliers

  • Assisting with general administrative tasks and organisation

  • Supporting social media and occasionally appearing in content



About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Genuinely interested in art and the gallery environment

  • Highly reliable and consistent

  • Proactive and confident in taking responsibility

  • Friendly and comfortable speaking with clients

  • Hands-on and comfortable with a physical role

  • Organised with strong attention to detail

  • Keen to learn and grow within the business

This role suits someone who wants more than just a weekend job, and is looking to develop within a creative, client-facing environment.



Working Hours

  • 4–8 hours per week

  • Weekend availability is essential



Probation Period

12-week probation period to assess performance, reliability, and long-term fit.
