LINDA CHARLES

LINDA CHARLES - Linda Charles studied textiles and fashion at university, and her creative background is evident in every artwork she produces. Linda's work carries a strong sense of design, detail, and individuality.
Linda has continually pushed boundaries, developing fresh ideas and innovative approaches that resonate both visually and emotionally. She creates artwork that evokes the same feelings in her collectors as she experiences while making each piece.
More recently, her acclaimed Pulp Re-Imagined collections have showcased her versatility and unique vision. Inspired by the cover art of mid-20th-century pulp paperbacks, Linda combines the dramatic, cinematic imagery of the 1940s–60s with lyrics, songs, and icons from music history.
Music has always been central to her creativity and this fusion of sound and image has struck a chord with collectors worldwide. As Linda herself explains: “I came across a box of vintage paperbacks in the attic, and one featured a glamorous woman running from a pair of headlights. Immediately, ‘Born to Run’ by Bruce Springsteen played in my head and the idea was born. I love creating these pieces because they combine the two artistic concepts of audio and visual.”
This playful yet sophisticated series has resonated with audiences from all walks of life, including songwriters, music lovers, collectors, and even newlyweds who connect with the nostalgia and romance of her imagery.
With a career spanning over 25 years, Linda continues to evolve, constantly experimenting with new techniques and ideas while maintaining the distinctive flair that makes her work so instantly recognisable.
