KYRIE-ANNE MCCLUNE  –  Kyrie-Anne McCune, the artist behind Serpentine Signs, originates from the Wirral in Merseyside and calls Southport home. With over 17 years of experience as a tattooist, she continues to practice her craft at The Gilded Serpent Tattoo Gallery, her private custom studio set in the scenic, semi-rural town of Heskin near Chorley.

In 2019, Kyrie-Anne sought a new creative outlet, driven by her deep appreciation for antiques, old pub mirrors, period properties, and the timeless appeal of classic cars and sign-written commercial vehicles. This passion led her to discover the art of gilding, an ancient craft that perfectly complemented her love for traditional aesthetics.

She later uncovered a family connection to gilding by chance, learning that her great-grandfather had been a coach painter and gilder, which only deepened her dedication to the craft. Today, Kyrie-Anne honours that heritage while adding her modern twist, specialising in reverse glass gilding, also known as verre églomisé.

Using genuine gold and traditional techniques, she infuses each piece with a contemporary flair, blending the old with the new uniquely and strikingly. Whether through her tattoo artistry or her gilding work, Kyrie-Anne’s creativity continues to evolve, breathing life into the time-honoured traditions she holds dear.
